Frequently Asked Questions...
I am going into freelance photography and will be taking photos at music festivals-What camera is best for me?
Hi Camera people..
I am going into freelance photography and will be taking professional photos from the front areas at gigs and festivals...I have been told that the best digital SLR camera for me would be the CANON400D...CANON450D...PENTAX K200D...NIKON 60D..
I cant make my mind up which one to buy!..One of the important things for me is having is good built in flash, and anti shake/blur when taking photos..Is this called having a built in ISO?..Would you reccommend getting an extension lens aswell?..I am told that Sigma lenses are very good..Being that I will be fairly close-up to the action, maybe the 18-55 lens that comes with the Canon cameras may be sufficient enough for the kind of work that I will be doing?..
Any advice and tips would be most very welcome..
Thanks

Answer:
I am mostly going to agree with what has been stated, and add that if you don't the difference between ISO and Image Stabilization, you are going to need a LOT of classes, to learn more about the "Art" of photography.
You will need to know how light affects the photos.
Aperture size
Shutter speed,
ISO,
If you don't have a good grasp of these, you will have a tough time getting many decent shots.
You will get a good one once in a while by accident, bug you're gonna have a a LOT of throw-aways.
Especially trying to shoot difficult subjects, in extreme light conditions, like concerts !
IS helps a a little with camera shake, but does not help with moving subjects, like singers running around a stage.
You'll need to learn the rules, or you just aren't going to get many "Money shots".
As stated, these are consumer cameras, not pro.
You can get some decent stuff from them, but you will need the BEST / FASTEST glass you can afford,
If you go with Nikon or Canon, stay with their lens most of the time.
If you start buying cheap slow glass, you'll be fighting an uphill battle, that you will not win.
You might get a few "snapshots", but you're going to struggle trying to sell them as professional.
And yes, you will need the best EXTERNAL flash you can get.
