I recently bought the nikon SB-600 hot shoe flash. Is there any way that i can used the SB as a remote flash unit while using my cameras built in pop up flash as the master flash?

I think you need a SB-800 to be able to do that. Because SB-600 is not compatible with the remote function. But Sb-800 and 900 has this function for sure.
